Priorities

Clear priorities for Ward 4

Short, practical priorities focused on local issues residents deal with every day.

Safer Streets

Ward 4 families, students, seniors, pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers all need safer local streets. I want to focus on practical traffic calming, safer school zones, better crossings, and better attention to problem areas before serious incidents happen.

  • Safer routes to schools, parks, and community spaces
  • Clear attention to intersections and crossings that residents already flag
  • Practical fixes before concerns become emergencies

Responsible Growth

Growth is happening across south Kitchener. New housing and development need to come with the roads, servicing, parks, transit, and community consultation that make neighbourhoods actually work.

  • Growth should keep pace with infrastructure and services
  • Neighbourhood input should happen early
  • Decisions should reflect long-term local impacts

Better Communication

Residents should not have to dig through long agendas or watch hours of meetings to understand what is happening in their neighbourhood. I want clearer updates, simpler explanations, and better notice before important decisions are made.

  • Simpler explanations of city decisions
  • Better notice before local changes move ahead
  • More useful updates residents can act on

Parks, Trails, and Community Spaces

Ward 4 should protect and improve the parks, trails, community centres, and public spaces that families and neighbours use every day.

  • Protect the spaces residents already rely on
  • Improve access and maintenance where needed
  • Keep neighbourhood growth connected to community spaces

Respect for Taxpayers

City spending should be understandable, practical, and focused on core services. Residents deserve clear explanations about what is being funded and why.

  • Focus on services residents use and expect
  • Communicate clearly about costs and tradeoffs
  • Avoid vague promises and unclear spending
