About Harry
Hi, I'm Harry.
I'm a software developer, professor, Ward 4 resident, and probably the person at a party who ends up trying to figure out why something doesn't work.
A bit about me
I've spent more than 15 years building software, teaching students, and leading projects. A lot of that work comes down to the same things I think are important in local government: clear information, accountability, asking good questions, and actually following through.
I've worked in areas including financial technology, banking, mobile applications, legal software, and other technology projects. I've also spent years teaching software development at Conestoga College and Seneca Polytechnic.
Why I'm running
My goal is pretty simple: Tell you what's coming, ask what you think, represent that at City Hall, and tell you what happened afterward.
I'm running for Ward 4 because I think residents should have more of a say in what happens between elections.
You shouldn't have to dig through hundreds of pages of City reports to figure out what Council is voting on, and you shouldn't first hear about an important decision after it has already been made.
How I think about representation
Ward 4 is made up of thousands of people with different opinions, priorities, backgrounds, and political views. A councillor's job is to listen to them, understand the trade-offs, and represent the community - not just the people who already agree with them.
I don't expect everyone in Ward 4 to agree with me.
I'm not running because I have all the answers.
I'm running because I'm willing to ask questions, do the homework, listen to residents, and be open about how I make decisions.
If something in Ward 4 matters to you, I want to hear about it.
